Hon. Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu has assured the people of Fakon Sarki community of Augie Local Government Area of provision of potable water. Gov. Idris gave the assurance on Wednesday when he made a stop-over at the community on his way back to Birnin Kebbi, the State Capital from an official engagement in Owerri, Imo State and Abuja, respectively.  The Governor interacted with the members of the community to find out some of the challenges they were facing. They complained to him about the perennial scarcity of drinking water as their major concern.  The Governor assured them of his readiness to tackle the problem immediately . The Kebbi Government has sought the support and cooperation of Independent Petroleum Marketers' Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) towards reducing the hardship faced by its citizens following fuel scarcity in the state. The long ques in filing stations had surfaced especially in the state capital while many filing stations were under lock and key. Concerned by the ugly trend, the state government under the state's Commissioners for Commece, Alhaji Usman Abubakar-Ladan and Information, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed-BK summoned a meeting on Monday to deliberate on ways to bring immediate solution to the menace. IPMAN executives in the state alongside other key stakeholders attended the meeting where issues surrounding the cause of fuel scarcity in the state were discussed and possible solutions were also offered. GOVERNOR LAWAL RECEIVES HUMANITARIAN MINISTER, SEEKS MORE SUPPORT FOR DISPLACED PERSONS IN ZAMFARA Governor Dauda Lawal, on Thursday, sought more support for the Internally Displaced Persons across Zamfara State. The Governor appealed for support while receiving the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr Betta Edu, in Zamfara State. A statement by the Spokesperson to the Governor, Sulaiman Bala Idris, said that the minister visited Zamfara for the official opening and handing over 40 fully completed and functional houses as a refugee resettlement city project.  He added that the Governor accompanied the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs to visit the Federal University Gusau, where they met with university authorities and students rescued from kidnappers. Kebbi State Governor,  Comrade,  Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu  has Flagged off the distribution  of palliatives to the public in Maiyama local Government Area of Kebbi State this Friday. About  210 truck load of grains worth N5.7 billion have been distributed to the general public including  the vulnerable to cushion the effect of fuel subsidy removal and provide sustainable means of livelihood to citizenry by the Kebbi State Government. Flagging-off the distribution exercise, Governor Nasir Idris said over 550,000 families would benefit from the gesture.  "Each of the 21 local government areas receive 10 trucks consisting of rice and millet .
