Kebbi state Governor, Comrade, Dr. Nasir Idris, this Wednesday assented to a supplementary budget of about N19.4 billion approved by the State House of Assembly. 

The fiscal document was presented to him at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi, by the Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Usman Muhammad Ankwe in company of other members of the House.   

Governor Nasir Idris thanked the Legislators for the quick passage of the budget, assuring that it would be implemented judiciously with financial discipline in line with the policy thrust of his administration.                                
  The governor explained that the supplementary budget would be devoted to infrastructural development, heath care services, education and other sectors for the improvement of the wellbeing of the people of Kebbi state.           
He thanked the Assembly for its support and cooperation to his administration that made it possible to achieve successes recorded by the government within such a short period, saying that the Executive and the Legislature were now like one family.  

  Comrade Kauran Gwandu further expressed appreciation to the members for their vote of confidence on him at the time he accompanied Mr. President to the United Nations in New York which indicated that the Assembly has been exercising checks and balances and has found his administration meritorious.         
 He was similarly glad about their congratulatory message and goodwill on his victory at the Tribunal and invited members of opposition parties to discard political sentiment and join the ruling party for collective effort to uplift the living standard of the people of Kebbi

  The Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Usman Muhammad Ankwe, acknowledged the giant strides of Comrade, Dr. Nasir Idris on the development of infrastructure, economic growth, education, health care, agriculture and other sectors. He made it clear that such monumental achievement galvanized the Legislature to expedite action on ratifying the supplementary budget to facilitate further development.                     
 Rt. Hon. Ankwe congratulated the governor on behalf of all members of the Assembly for his victory at the Election Petition Tribunal, saying it was a victory for democracy and has reinforced the confidence of the people of the state in his administration. 

He pledged that the House would sustain support and cooperation to the executive arm to attain prosperity. 

The State deputy governor, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafida, the Secretary to the state government, Yakubu Bala Tafida and the Chief of Staff, Government House, Barrister Attahiru Maccido witnessed the signing of the supplementary budget.
