Gov Idris approves 2026 Hajj Committee, Appoints Ahmad Jafar Jega as Amirul Hajj. The Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu), has approved the constitution of a State Government Delegation/Committee for the 2026 Hajj Exercise.  This was contained in a letter issued by the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, dated 9th April, 2026, conveying the Governor’s approval for the composition of the delegation to oversee and coordinate Hajj operations for the state. According to the approval, Alhaji Ahmad Jafar Jega has been appointed as Chairman and Amirul Hajj. Hon. Muhammad Usman Zuru (Lifiddan Zuru), describing his death as a tragic and monumental loss to Kebbi State and the entire nation at large. The late Speaker passed away on Monday, 6th April, 2026, at a hospital in Cairo, Egypt, where he had been receiving treatment following a prolonged illness. His death was officially confirmed by the Clerk of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Alhaji Suleiman Shamaki.
