GOV IDRIS MOURNS PASSING OF KEBBI ASSEMBLY SPEAKER, RT. HON. MUHAMMAD USMAN ZURU. Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has received with profound shock, deep sorrow, and a heavy heart the painful news of the passing of the Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Muhammad Usman Zuru (Lifiddan Zuru), describing his death as a tragic and monumental loss to Kebbi State and the entire nation at large. The late Speaker passed away on Monday, 6th April, 2026, at a hospital in Cairo, Egypt, where he had been receiving treatment following a prolonged illness. His death was officially confirmed by the Clerk of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Alhaji Suleiman Shamaki. In an emotion-laden condolence message, Governor Idris said he was devastated by the loss of a trusted ally, a committed lawmaker, and an outstanding leader whose devotion to duty, humility, wisdom, and dedication to the service of Kebbi State distinguished him as a true patriot.  The Go...

Kebbi State Governor, Dr Nasir Idris,.Kauran Gwandu, on Thursday presented a budget proposal of over N642.9billion to the State House of Assembly for  consideration and approval. The budget is tagged, 'Budget of Transformation and People Empowerment'. He stated that out of the figure, capital expenditure  constitute 75 per cent while recurrent expenditure is 25 per cent. According to the Governor, capital expenditure amounts to N479.36billion, while recurrent expenditure stands at N163.57billion. Dr Nasir Idris explained that the allocation structure demonstrated the unwavering commitment of his administration to long-term development while maintaining essential operational stability. Kebbi to Mark International Day of Persons with Disabilities with Special Packages for 1,000 Beneficiaries. The Kebbi State Government, through the Ministry of Special Duties, has concluded arrangements to commemorate the 2025 International Day of Persons with Disabilities scheduled for Wednesday, 3rd December, 2025.  The Honourable Commissioner for Special Duties, Hon. Zayyanu Umar Aliero, disclosed this during a press briefing held in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday.  According to him, the state government, in collaboration with the wife of the President, has made adequate preparations to ensure that persons with disabilities across Kebbi State benefit meaningfully from the programme.  He explained that the event, themed “Fostering Disability inclusive Societies for Advancing Social Progrss” aligns with the global celebration and aims to promote inclusion,empowerment and support for vulnerable groups.
