The Kebbi State Government has expressed its deepest condolences and sympathy to the Transmission Company of Nigeria regarding the fire incident that engulfed its transmission power station in Birnin Kebbi on Thursday night.

The Kebbi State Government has expressed its deepest condolences and sympathy to the Transmission Company of Nigeria regarding the fire incident that engulfed its transmission power station in Birnin Kebbi on Thursday night.

This is contained in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafida, on Friday in Birnin Kebbi, on behalf  of the state government.

 It said:"We understand the gravity of the situation and the impact it has had on our state's electricity supply, which has resulted in power failures across the region.

"Our thoughts are with the good people of our dear state, the TCN and its employees, and all those who have been affected by this unfortunate event. 

"We understand the tremendous efforts that is being in place to restore power to our communities as quickly as possible, and we commend the dedication and commitment to this critical task.

"I want to assure you that the government is fully committed to collaborating with the TCN to expedite the restoration of electricity in our state. 

"We recognize the vital role that reliable electricity plays in our daily lives, and we are committed to minimizing the inconvenience caused to our citizens." 

The SSG assured that the state government will provide any necessary support and resources to facilitate a swift recovery.

"In addition to addressing the power outage, we are also taking proactive steps to ensure the well-being of our citizens. 

" We have directed the Ministry of Water Resources to prioritize powering all water treatment plants.

"This is  to ensure a steady water supply during this period of disruption. Access to clean water is essential, and we are dedicated to maintaining this basic necessity for our residents.

"We understand the challenges and pressure that this incident has placed on both the people and the TCN and we want to reassure all stakeholders that we are here to assist in any way possible. 

' Our collective goal is to restore normalcy as soon as possible and minimize the impact on our citizens' lives," Tafida added.
