The Kebbi State House of Assembly has expressed confidence and excitement over the huge achievements recorded by the State Government under the watch of His Excellency, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu.

The Kebbi State House of Assembly has expressed confidence and excitement over the huge achievements recorded by the State Government under the watch of His Excellency, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu.

The Assembly through a unanimous resolution, passed a “vote-of-confidence’’ on the governor after x-raying his achievements within 100 days in office.

This followed a motion moved by Alhaji Nuradeen Kangiwa, member representing Arewa Constituency during plenary in Birnin Kebbi and seconded by Alhaji Muhammad Garba-Bena, representing Danko/Wasagu East Constituency.

The lawmakers, who deliberated on the achievements sector-by-sector held that the governor had rightly positioned the state in the path of development recovery.

They further highlighted the dividends of democracy enjoyed by people of their constituencies within the 100 days of Idris in office.

The dividends, they said were through Infrastructure, education, agriculture, health and the fight against insecurity, particularly in the Southern part of the state, among others.

The lawmakers, therefore, urged the political office holders, civil servants and entire residents of Kebbi State to reciprocate the gesture through cooperation and support to policies and programmes of the state government.

Kangiwa, initiator of the motion said the Idris’ administration had lived up to its promises so far and therefore deserved public accolades.

He added that the successes recorded within the 100 days of Idris-led administration was a clear testimony governor's visionary approach and commitment to developing the state and its citizens.

The Speaker, Mohammad Usman-Zuru, who precided over the proceedings alongside the entire members of the house collectively agreed with the passage of vote-of-confidence motion.

The speaker said the action was to encourage the governor to remain on the path of progress, describing his style of leadership so far as exemplary.
