EMIR OF GWANDU HONOURS DR USMAN SANI TUNGA WITH EXALTED TITLE
Today is Friday and it is beautiful for the Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic Birnin Kebbi and the family of the Rector, Dr Usman Sani Tunga as the GWANDU Emirate Council under the able and exemplery leadership of His Royal Highness, the Emir of Gwandu and Chairman Kebbi State Council of Chiefs, Maj. Gen. ( Dr) Muhammad Ilyasu Bashar, CFR, mni bestowed on him, the exalted and prestigious title OF the 1st  MALLAMAWAN Gwandu.

The letter conveying the royal  father's approval was delivered to the Rector by the MAGATAKARDAN Gwandu, Alhaji Ibrahim Gwandu.

The title of MALLAMAWA is historic and prestigeous as it is only bestowed on men of honour who have made selfless contributions to the growth and development of education in the society as renowned researchers, scholars, educational administrators or leaders with the passion and political will for educafional development.

The royal father described Dr Tunga as a patriotic son of the emirate who has made laudable contributions to its development and is worthy of recognition. He challenged the new MALLAMAWA to continue his beautiful services to the Emirate, Kebbi State, Nigeria and humanity. 

Speaking on behalf of the Rector, his friends and family, the Rector's friend and deputy (Academic) Alhaji Isiyaku Abdullahi who is also the Magayakin Rafin Zuru, thanked the Emir for finding Dr Usman Sani Tunga worthy of the highly respected title of MALLAMAWAN GWANDU. He assured the Emir and his Council that the title had been given to the right person insisting that the horn of a cow can not be too big for the head which must bear it. He expressed confidence that Dr Tunga will excel in the new responsibility.

The date for the turbanning of the brand new, FIRST MALLAMAWAN GWANDU will be announced by the palace of Abdullahin Gwandu.
